Walking Lucy Into Shaker Hollow

This afternoon I decided to walk Lucy, but being tired of walking the same three mile loop, we drove up into Shaker Hollow and walked there. When we went in there were only a couple of people with a truck sitting out by the stream.

Lucy had a good time sniffing at everything. The two fellows we had seen before passed us in their truck, going very slowly! We walked about a half mile in, until the road got too muddy to keep going. Had to cross the stream at one point. I was all set to step over on some rocks when Lucy ran down the stream in front of me and I almost went over her and headfirst into the stream!

The day started out sunny, but it got darker as we walked north towards the Baker Hills, and the road got muddier. Lucy didn't mind at all, but I didn't want the car all muck. So we turned around.

 

On the way out we met a couple with one dog about Lucy's size and one Chihuahua. Of course they were both off-leash! 😬 Lucy and the big dog sniffed butts and decided they wanted to play. The Chihuahua growled and snapped and kept charging Lucy, who ignored it. The owners couldn't corner it. In the process they got much closer than I wanted to be given the coronavirus. 😒

Getting away from that situation ASAP we walked back to the car and drove home.
