Through the Looking Glass
If you had asked me a few months ago I would have scoffed at the idea that a Democratic governor would be defending the Constitution and advancing "States Rights" while a Republican president would be claiming "royal" absolute power and trashing the Constitution! The Coronavirus really has changed things, at least for a time.
It is especially ironic considering the President tried to avoid the responsibility of decision making to begin with and left declaring and enforcing social distancing and stay-at-home edicts to the individual States, but now claims absolute authority over lifting those same restrictions! If he had made the decisions and ordered the shutdown nationwide to begin with he might have a case, but the Federal Government has consistently been about a month behind events since the start of this.
"Leadership consists of nothing but taking responsibility for everything that goes wrong and giving your subordinates credit for everything that goes well." Dwight Eisenhower.
Who is offering leadership today?
